PostSubject: T & L C - Introduction   Sat Oct 04, 2008 12:26 pm

Just a quick introduction..

I'm Tom, my wife is Lisa, and we have a pair of 350Z's. They are fraternal twins - hers is a 2006 Daytona Blue roadster automatic, mine is a 2006 Interlagos Fire roadster 6 speed. She got hers new, I just picked mine up used a week ago. I used to have a 2003 Corvette, but doing any kind of work on it was a royal PITA and I sold it this summer. After much searching for something suitable to replace it, I finally settled on a 350Z like my wife's - but with a manual trans. The nice part is that I can teach her to drive stick on this Z, and then can easily change the clutch myself when the time comes (which wasn't practical on the Vette!)

More about us - just moved to Montebello (just north of Mahwah, NJ) 2 years ago after spending 5 years on an assignment in Germany. Boy I miss the autobahn... In our garage we have the 2 Z's, a MINI Cooper S with the JCW heads and SC, a GTI VR6, and for bigger stuff and winter weather, a GMC Envoy. The garage has 3 bays and a lift for working on the cars and for storage of the extra cars- so perhaps we can host a garage party some time for the Northern Jersey folks to do mods on their cars.

Why am I here? It looks like this board also hosts the New Jersey ZClub. I'm hoping to find a community similar to what I had with the Corvette and still have with the MINI. Get together once in a while, appreciate each other's rides, and have some spirited but not ticket-inducing runs. We love driving - we just have a healthy respect for the fact that there are others on the road too. I'm not interested in the F & F crowd, and definitely don't want to get involved in the gangsta type 350Z/G35 groups around NYC. I've been looking on all the forums, and so far you guys seem the closest to what I hope to find.

Welcome aboard!

Please take a look at some of the events in the Northeast forum for this October.
I hope to meet you and your wife at one or two of those.
